~Still Proud ~Soccer Mania~

Ok, so we've made some progress. The book "Parrot in the Oven" is on hold. We went to the school the next morning to talk with the Director. He said that they will be looking into it and it will not be read until the book has been reread by the teachers, well duh! I then spoke with his teacher the next day. Brandon will be reading another book. I wanted to make sure he wasn't singled out in anyway, tryin to turn this into a positive situation. I told her that I was proud of Brandon and he DID the right thing. She also said that too. I then asked for a list of books they will be reading throughout the year and I'm going to check with the teachers for Jessica and Megan. So we'll wait and see. I've checked with Brandon each day to see what is going on in class. They aren't reading it, yeah. I know some other parents that would be concerned with this book if they knew what it was about. This is a reminder to me to stay on top of what is going on in class.

Well soccer is in full swing. The girls had their first game. They have improved so much since last year. More aggressive and having fun. It's great to see more confidence in them and it's really showing. Brandon is waiting for his schedule for U14, they play all around town and some traveling. So we'll wait and see.

Jessica said she LOVES soccer!!!!!!
Bailey joined us this year! Not sure what happened here, I had to leave to take Meg to her game. Thought it was cute.

Meg attacking the ball once again. She ran the entire time. It's so cute to see them all run around in one big crowd.

Proud Mom I Am

So, anything fun happen at school? Nah! Any homework? Finished already! What was the best part of your day? Well...it was hot!!! This was my conversation with Brandon on the way home from school today. So anywho, we run home, get ready for soccer, feed Josh, eat a snack, fill up the water bottle, grab homework and off to soccer pracatice! Brandon watched Josh, yes he is an official babysitter and loves not running everywhere. So I am practice and Greg calls and asks if I know about a book Brandon is reading in class. I said that I didn't. He then tells me that they were reading this particular book in class and some of the words were making him uncomfortable. He told the substitute teacher that he didn't want to read it and wanted to talk to someone in the office. He then went and talked with the vice principal and told him that he didn't want to read it because it had words that were not right. As I sat here and listened I could have cried, but I held it together. I was so proud of him and wanted to hug him right then, I held back. You could tell that he was uncomfortable with the situation. I told him how proud I am of him, gave him a kiss and hug and sent him off to bed. So Greg and I talked and will head into school tomorrow and see what happens. I also checked out the book and it has some pretty MATURE topics and it also had a grade level 10 - 12. Fill ya in later....

2868 miles & 13 1/2 hours later Part 3

We're heading to Denver! Yeah. Grandma & Grandpa Lomeli said goodbye and they headed back to Phoenix. Trip went well until we were about 50 miles out of Denver and we hit some major traffic. We thought accident, yeah right. Nothing, just peole going slow and it took us about 3 hours to get there. But we finally made it.
We stayed in this WAY cute house. We found this place on VRBO.com and rented for a week. It was perfect for our trip. We cooked and stayed up late playing games and didn't disturb anyone. Everyone had a room and plenty for Joshua to check out. He loved the stairs. Couldn't keep him off.
We took the kids to Water World. The park was so big, we didn't have time to see everything. Kinda expensive but with discounted tickets at their local grocery stores (King Soopers) we had a blast. Joshua LOVES water, he didn't have a nap all day. Finally fell asleep around 5 and nothing would wake him up.

We had a wonderful opportunity to take Brandon to the Denver Temple and do Baptisms for the Dead. He turned 12 last May and we wanted to take him for his first time. Greg and I hadn't done them since we were his age. It was a pretty neat experience. Greg was able to do the baptisms, they both just grinned the entire time. Yes, I cried of course. You know me. I always like to listen to the names and picture them in my mind and wonder what they might be doing right at that moment. I am so proud of my boys, I loved spending this special time with them.

The next part of family adventure was spent getting ready for Scott and Crystal's wedding and spending time with family. We had a Tyler Reunion. It was great to see cousins that we haven't seen in a LONG time, met children we have never seen. Aunt Karen did a great job planning. Had tons of food, swam at the pool and spendt the day in Estes Park. It was beautiful. Greg once again took TONS of pictures. Uncle Steve and Greg took twice as long to walk around the lakes as the rest of the family. We WILL go again soon. It was nice and cool and the smell of the pine trees was unimaginable. We walked around Bear and Sprauge Lakes. We could still saw snow! The chipmunks were very friendly. One of them started to crawl up the stroller and tried to take Joshuas trail mix.

This cute young man is Luke. He is adopted into our family. This is one of Scott's best friends growing up and he flew up for the sealing. What a guy. It was great to talk to him more since his mission. Luke was VERY patient answering my million questions. Hope he makes it into our family real soon. Will you hurry up and marry Amelia. Love ya!

This is how it really is....Crazy family...still love them~

Cute Jonah!

Yeah, I have another Sister. This day was spectacular. The sealing was awesome. Me cry, no way! Well ok. I started the minute I saw Crystal enter the sealing room. Being there and listening to the sealer was a great reminder of 13 years ago. Uncle Jerry was able to seal them. This was his first family sealing. He did a wonderful job and loved his stories and advice. Thanks Uncle Jerry, I have thought about alot of what you have said. Take care of each other!

We love Aunt Pat, she is so fun! Hope to see you in Mexico.....
